3. Software Engineering
The research objects of software engineering incliding how to design software (what functions and other requirements of the target software should have, the division of software function modules, the business process of each function of the software, etc.), how to develop software (development language, development platform, development tools, development architecture), how to ensure the quality of software development and executing software testing, how to manage the software development process, how to deploy software, how to maintain the software, how to write relevant software engineering documents according to the software development specifications, and how to carry out collaborative development and manage the software development team.
Relying on the China University of Petroleum, Karamay campus began to recruit undergraduates majoring in software engineering in 2016. After recent years of development, guided by the market demand and the demand of the oil and gas industry, the computer department of Karamay campus has cultivated practical, compound and engineering software talents suitable for the adjustment of the national industrial structure and helping the digital transformation of enterprises. 6. Oil & Gas Storage and Transportation Engineering

7. Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation

8. The process equipment and control engineering
The process equipment and control engineering is one of the earliest backbone specialties of China University of Petroleum (Beijing). The predecessor specialty, petroleum refinery machinery, was one of the oldest specialties set up by the former Beijing Institute of Petroleum in the early days of its establishment. The first undergraduate graduate in 1955 and the first graduate in 1956. Later, it renamed chemical equipment and machinery. In 1998, the Ministry of Education unified the professional name to ' Process Equipment and Control Engineering '. This not only retains the characteristics of the original chemical equipment and machinery specialty, but also gives a new connotation. Process equipment and control engineering specialty pays attention to the teaching concept of wide foundation, wide knowledge and strong adaptability in teaching. Taking modern petrochemical industry as the platform, it emphasizes the cultivation of compound talents with close combination of process, equipment and control, so that students have strong scientific research ability and innovation ability. After nearly 60 years of construction and development, this specialty has become one of the most influential specialties in the field of petrochemical equipment in China. Graduates spread all over the oil refining, ethylene, coal-to-oil, coal chemical industry, offshore oil and other national petroleum and petrochemical companies and petrochemical engineering companies. Their work mainly includes product design, production management, technology research and development, and product marketing. Many excellent graduates have become famous experts, technical backbones and senior management personnel in the field of petrochemical equipment in China. Many of them also play an important leading role, and a Chinese Academy of Engineering (Shi Mingxian) and a Chinese Academy of Sciences (He Guozhong) have emerged.
In terms of disciplines, we obtained the graduate conferral right in Chemical Process Machinery in 1987; in 2003, second-category Ph. D. degree of chemical process machinery was awarded; in 2009, the postdoctoral research station of first-category of power engineering and engineering thermophysics was established; doctoral unit in power engineering and engineering thermophysics was awarded in 2010. Multiphase flow separation technology and equipment engineering research center of Ministry of Education was approved in 2010. The subject research mainly focuses on the scientific and technical issues in the field of petrochemical equipment, with has distinctive petrochemical characteristics. We have mastered a number of core technologies with independent intellectual property rights in the direction of multiphase separation theory and technology, process equipment and engineering, and has achieved a number of internationally advanced and domestic leading scientific research achievements.
