CUPK hosted “International Exchange and Cooperation Seminar on High Quality Energy Development” –– 2025 China-Central Asia Industry-University-Research-Application Cooperation Conference

On May 13th, the International Symposium on High Quality Energy Development Exchange and Cooperation was held at Boda Campus of Xinjiang University. This symposium was hosted by the Education Bureau of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, jointly organized by CUPK, Xinjiang University, Tianjin University, Shihezi University and other universities. Vice President of CUP, CUPK Party Secretary and President Li Jun attended the meeting. Representatives from CUPK’s relevant functional departments and its affiliated colleges also attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by CUPK’s Vice President Xing Xiaokai.

In his speech, Li Jun said that as the “national team” of China’s energy sector universities, CUPB has built a collaborative innovation and cooperation network that can jointly build national cooperation with countries along the “The Belt and Road”. He proposed to establish a demand-oriented strategy to actively focus on oil and gas exploration and development in Central Asia, on the technical “difficulties” and “bottlenecks” in the fields of new energy and oil and gas artificial intelligence, and form a “demand-oriented” cross-border research team; Meanwhile, education needs to be employed as a link to build a “Government-School-Enterprise” education community to better explore the “Order Based” and the “Integrated System” of international talent training models; In addition, platforms are to be served as carriers to explore new paradigms of energy cooperation in areas such as mutual recognition of technical standards, interoperability of resource sharing, and promotion of joint achievements.

Leaders and experts from home and abroad delivered speeches and special reports at the meeting, among whom are Yu Zujun, President of Beijing Jiaotong University, Malatbek Kabudulin, President of Kazakh-British Technical University, Gulzada Shakurikova, President of Atyrau University of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Professor Mu Zongjie. They all hoped to continuously strengthen Industry-University Cooperation in the energy sector between China and the Central Asia countries in exploring new models of international School-Enterprise Cooperation, and to solve key technical problems in energy transformation.

After the meeting, delegations from foreign universities such as Kazakh-British Technical University, Atyrau University of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Tashkent University of Information Technology visited the CUPK campus. At the symposium at CUPK, the delegation highly praised its achievements and hardware facilities. Leaders and experts from home and abroad conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as deepening cooperation and achieving win-win outcomes, and they reached agreements on cooperation issues such as co-building laboratories, jointly applying for scientific research projects, joint student training and exchange programs, and short-term summer camps. During the visit, the delegation also visited the CUPK campus’ educational achievement exhibition, panoramic sand table, F1 analysis and testing center, F4 factory, etc.
